Accessibility statement
Last updated 11/10/2026
Draft. This page is a working draft awaiting review. It is not yet in force, and nobody has been invited to use the service.
We are building Judge Yourself to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. Selection days make reasonable adjustments, and practising for one should allow for them too. This statement describes what we are building; it will be revised against the service as built before anyone is invited.
What we are building
- Every exercise can be done entirely in text, without a microphone or speakers.
- Captions of everything said in a voice session, on by default.
- Extra reading time (25% or 50%), longer preparation and slower speech, set once on your account.
- Full keyboard use, visible focus, a skip link, and no single-key shortcuts.
- Text that can be enlarged with the control at the bottom right of every page or with your browser.
- Animations reduced when your device asks for reduced motion.
Voice sessions and screen readers
In voice sessions we will not announce each party’s words through your screen reader, because it would talk over them. Time warnings will be announced, and the transcript will be available at any point. If you use a screen reader you may prefer text mode.
Known gaps
Judge Yourself is not yet open. Before the pilot we will test it with assistive-technology users, and we will list any problems we find here, with the date we expect to fix them.
